Erika Linder: The Female/Male Model Chameleon
Erika Linder is a model who models women’s and men’s clothing. Her androgynous looks have landed her big contracts and have put her on the map as one of the most gender-bending models of all time.
After modelling for a few years, Linder wanted to change up her work so she decided to get into acting. In 2016, she appeared in her first movie as an androgynous lesbian in ‘Below Her Mouth’, presented at the Toronto Film Festival in 2016. The story is similar to ‘Blue Is the Warmest Colour’, a film about two women falling in love. Linder had never acted before but she fell in love with the story, “I was so captivated by the characters, the emotions, the story, the feelings and the sex. It was too good to turn down”, she explained to Flare Magazine.
She studied law and language in school but always wanted to be in a boy band. She loved Nick Carter, one of the most famous members of the Backstreet Boys. She wanted to be just like him. Linder also admires the actress Tilda Swinton who can play a female or a male in small-budget films or in big Hollywood franchises.
